Housed near Satara, an isolated Shaiva temple of Pateswar is always a subject of curiosity due to art and architectural remains, relics of various types of Shaiva images present in the main temple complex, and eight rock-cut caves with numerous shivlingas placed inside them. They pose the question of its creator, religious sanctity, and purpose of its gradual construction activities.
